Waiting on Wednesday: Timeless

"Waiting On" Wednesday spotlights upcoming releases that everyone's excited about (created byJill at Breaking The Spine.)

I realize it is almost 11:00 PM, but better late than never. I've been working and baking. . . Thanksgiving is tomorrow after all. I didn't want to slack, though, and took a break to write a WoW post.

WoW:
Timeless (Parasol Protectorate #5) by Gail Carriger

Scheduled to be released:
March 1, 2012

Why I'm waiting:
Gail Carriger's books are an adventure. Each time I sit down to begin, the pages fly by and I look up to find that I've finished and had wild fun along with all the hilarious characters. The setting of the books are great. Plus they are steampunk, they have vampires, werewolves, ghosts. . . a bit of something for everyone. I can't wait for another read with Alexia Tarabotti!

Book 5 Summary:
Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle.

Until, that is, she receives a summons from Alexandria that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Tunstells in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to cross the Mediterranean. But Egypt may hold more mysteries than even the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does the vampire Queen of the Alexandria Hive really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy Tunstell suddenly become the most popular actress in all the British Empire?
